Replacing an old mechanical Hard Drive with a super fast Solid State Drive (SSD)

  • The customer opted for a new clean install of Windows over a “Clone” of the old hard.
  • The old mechanical Hard Drive was repurposed and used as an external USB 3.0 storage drive.

Overheating PC

  • Dried out, excessive amount Thermal paste.
  • CPU Heatsink clogged up with a thick layer of dust.
  • After a good clean & a fresh application of Thermal paste, we were able to get the PC running at stable temps.

 

Graphics Card Cleaning – “Keep ’em CLEAN to keep ’em KEEN”

  • Here we have disassembled a ASUS GTX 780 Ti  GPU for some maintenance due to higher than normal temps when the card is at load (i.e.. playing games).
  • After removing all the cased in dust & particles, we were able to get the temps down noticeably without needing thermal paste reapplied

 

  • Customer brought in his PC Desktop complaining his game was crashing to desktop or completely shutting down the computer within the first few minutes of gameplay
  • The issues were a combination of poor CPU cooling, dust build up all inside the case & this :

 

PC Desktop Restorations

  • The PC was stripped back to a bare case, every component removed, including fans
  • Every part of the case including the components were individually cleaned & new thermal paste reapplied to the CPU
